A time of commitment is extended at the conclusion of our worship services. During this time, you are invited to come forward as God leads. You will be lead through the appropriate steps by a trained counselor. Or, you may contact the church office and set up an appointment with one of our staff members.
Why
Jesus called men and women to publicly proclaim and follow Him. It is this practice which we follow to strengthen commitment and encourage prayer and follow-through on each decision.
How
A person may join GBC in one of the following ways:
Profession of Faith/Baptism
A person who begins the Christian life does so by making a profession of his/her faith. Baptism is the first step in obedience to Christ (Matt. 28:19). Baptism is a picture of the dying of an old life and the start of a new life (Rom 6:34). The baptism schedule is available through Pastoral Ministries at 817-281-3361. All children must attend our five week “Shema” class, with one parent, prior to Baptism. Check with the Children’s Ministry Department for dates and times of “Shema”.
Statement of Faith
If you have experienced New Testament baptism by immersion and have believed in salvation by grace alone, you may become a member by your “statement of faith”. If you have a question about your salvation or the experience of baptism, please request an appointment. Either a staff member or a trained lay person will meet with you.
By Letter Transfer From Another Baptist Church
If you currently hold church membership with another Baptist church, arrangement will be made to transfer your membership to GBC. All the necessary details will be handled by our church staff.
