Divorce is not something that is easy. That is why Glenview Baptist Church is pleased to offer DivorceCare and Divorce Care for Kids coming Wednesday nights, September 16 - December 9, 2009 from 6:45pm - 8:15pm.
Glenview offers a welcoming and compassionate group of people who will walk with you through possibly one of life's most difficult experiences. We are here so that you do not have to go through this separation or divorce by yourself.
DivorceCare classes and groups are led by people who know and comprehend exactly what you are going through and have a desire to help you and your children. During these classes, you will obtain valuable DivorceCare resources to help you deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life.
Breakdown of the Classes
DivorceCare groups meets on Wednesday nights from September 16 - December 9 in order to help you face the everyday challenges and attempting to rebuild your life. Each DivorceCare class session is broken down into two different sessions:
-
A Seminar with Experts: Experts in the field of divorce and recovery are viewed by video for the first 30 - 40 minutes of each DivorceCare meeting. These videos are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies and on-location video.
-
A Support Group with Focus: After viewing the video, DivorceCare group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week's video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members.

Divorce not only affects the parents, but it also affects the children. During DivorceCare for Kids, children come together with children who are experiencing exactly what they are feeling and understand what they are going through. Often times, children who are caught in the middle of their parents divorce feel scared, lonely, confused and many more emotions. Children, unlike adults, tend to hide a lot of their emotions and do not know how to share and express what is going on in their worlds. That is where Glenview's Preschool and Children's Ministry partners with the Adult Ministry to provide DivorceCare for Kids.
DivorceCare for Kids happens at the exact same time that DivorceCare for adults is happening, Wednesday nights September 16 - December 9, from 6:45pm - 8:15pm.
What is DC4K (DivorceCare for Kids)?
DC4K involves a special group of people who are there to help your children heal from the pain caused by a separation or divorce. DC4K at Glenview Baptist Church provides kids an opportunity to share their feelings and emotions in a safe and impartial place.
During these 13 weeks, you children will be involved in a place that loves children. Each time your child arrives, the session will include motivating and exciting games and activities. This class will turn their sadness and frustrations to happiness and excitement for life again, all through God's love. DC4K is a powerful ministry for kids 5-12 years of age. Games, crafts, discussion and other activities will help your child understand and process divorce or separation so that they will be able to move forward in their own lives. Everything is centered on helping your child relax and rest in God's love for them.
